NASA is ready to send another rocket to orbit the moon. Although the agency said it needs a repair on hydrogen since it has a leak. Then afterward, they will go to Kennedy Space Center in Florida for its first launch attempt.
NASA conducted another test known as a “wet dress rehearsal,” which fully fuels the space launch system rocket’s two stages with more than 700,000 gallons of liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen! Unfortunately, the countdown was cut short 29 seconds because of hydrogen leaking.
Still, NASA was pleased with the results because the rocket had completed major milestones that it previously could not.
After the test, NASA officials were unsure whether they would need to do the test again which would have made it the fifth attempt. However, NASA said they have enough data to proceed with the first-ever attempt to launch the massive SLS rocket that the agency plans to use to return astronauts to the moon. NASA only needing to row the caspole and the crew back into the assembly building, repair a leak, and prepare the rocket for launch.
The launch, Artemis I, would send the Orion, which is a capsule without any astronauts to orbit around the moon. Artemis II is right Behind Artemis I, being launched around 2024, in which four astronauts will also orbit the moon but not land. The first actual landing could be in 2025 but it depends on prior missions.
