NASA has revealed their plans for building a permanent space base on the moon by 2032, and we are about to find out more about how and what it will have. The US is also competing with China since they also aim to land humans on the moon before 2030.

This permanent space base will be powered through nuclear and solar power at the moon’s south pole and will take about $20B to build. It would potentially allow humans to travel more easily to Mars and conduct scientific experiments on the moon. The moon also has an abundance of resources such as aluminum, silicon, oxygen, and some rare earth minerals and metals.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and his space company, Blue Origin, is one of the few companies tasked with building the landers. They should be able to carry out autonomous and precise landings, as well as navigation and control. The landers will also have high-resolution cameras that use reflected lasers to land the craft.

NASA wants to build fission reactors on the moon to power the future moon base. By 2032, humans should be able to live on the moon, if nothing goes wrong and no delays happen.
