Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

On June 26, 1997, J.K. Rowling published Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first book of the Harry Potter series. This book is fascinating because of its imagination and endlessly surprising plot.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the first book of the Harry Potter series, and it gradually grew in popularity after it was published. The Harry Potter series consisted of 7 books, each growing more and more exciting and long.

The first reason the book is attractive is because J.K. Rowling put a lot of imagination into writing it. According to George Michealson Foy, reviewers were captivated by Rowling’s creation of the different creations in the wizarding world, including Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, different magical creatures, and Voldemort. Rowling didn’t just invent a few magical items. She created a whole new world of witches and wizards. It almost sounds like it actually exists because of the different elements like the train platform between 9 and 10, letters delivered by owls, and the hidden Diagon Alley in the middle of a mall in London. Also, the magic world includes not just battles, violence, and key moments, but also includes every wizard’s everyday life. The book includes things like magic classes, newspapers, Quidditch, special wizard foods, and regular punishments which make readers feel like they could live there. The storyline also connects how Harry moved from the Dursley’s to Hogwarts, which further makes it seem real.

Another reason the book is captivating is because J.K. Rowling’s way of writing lets the story be interesting and makes people really want to read it. An example of this is when Harry receives his acceptance letter to Hogwarts, and people want to see how he goes to the school and what he does there. In 1998-1999, while the book was spreading across the world, it became extremely popular, and children of all kinds started getting attached to Hogwarts’ mysteries. Some libraries reported that people would come in at midnight and grab a copy rather than wait until the morning! Some children waited for up to months to get even one copy. Even many skeptical critics said that this book definitely got children invested in reading at an astounding level. It was richly imagined, making the wizarding world seem real this entire time.

One thing people might say is that the book uses language that is too simple, and the book was made functional rather than exceptional. However, the language being simple doesn’t really matter. Children are obsessed with it anyway. Therefore, even though the language might be a bit simple, it doesn’t keep millions of children from being eager to read it.
In conclusion, the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is a great book because it is very imaginative, and it makes readers obsessed with it and want to keep reading.
