The animation incident
It was a nice and pleasant day, but it was about to go downhill from there. A man named Simon from an animation company was working on his part on animating the characters for the animation, but that is when he realized something was wrong. His company was working on a show called “Sing 2”, a sequel to the original. His part of the animation had been different yesterday, and when he looked through the search history of his part of the animation, he froze. Someone that he knew had been accessing his animations somehow. Someone whom he had forgotten about years ago. It was someone who somehow still had access to the company’s files. He was called Derick. Simon got up and out of his chair and literally ran to his boss.
A few years earlier, Derick had been fired for a prank on their boss.
“What are you doing!?” Simon said as he strolled through the doors of their boss’s office.
“I am taping a plastic Coka-Cola spilling on our Boss’s computer, this computer probably cost a fortune, this should get interesting.” “
You physically and mentally realized that you might get kicked out, right?” asked Simon.
“So what? I don’t care!” said Derick.
“Well, suit yourself.”
The next day, as Simon walked into the building, all he could hear was screaming. Derick was kicked out and wrote an insulting review for the animation company’s webpage for getting hired. The review went like “Trash all over workplace, uncomfy, unsecured, security guard at the entrance, don’t ask him where the vending machine is, you might get kicked out, which would be an honor, one star.”
“What a jerk.” Simon thought as he read that review from him. That was the last time Sam had heard from Derick until now.
He told his boss what had happened, and then they both ran back to Simon’s computer and started searching for an answer to what possibly could have allowed him to access the company’s files after so many months. As they dug deeper, they discovered something terrifying. This was not Derick’s first offense of hacking into the company’s animation process, and five other people had similar instances of Derick hacking their animation.
As they called the police, Simon’s boss could not thank him enough of what he did. Derick waseventually charged with hacking and disrupting a movie animation. As Same scrolled through the news, he thought, “Maybe that is what you get for writing that review.” He thought about all the times Derick was crazy and mean to him; this, finally, was the moment Simon was looking for.
