Life As a Shoe

Let me tell you the story of my life. It all started in the factory where I came out fresh. I don’t remember much; all I remember is light for a few minutes, then blackness.
Before I met my wearer, I was stuck in a box. Being stuck in a box isn’t actually that bad. It’s sort of like being in a roller coaster. You get picked up, thrown, driven around and more by other people—at least, that is what I think is happening.
I was experiencing my 23rd day in a box when I got thrown hard on the ground (how rude!) and a doorbell rang. This was when I realized… I had finally been delivered to my wearer.
All my previous thoughts immediately vanished. 3 minutes of my life inside the pitch blackness of the box, I had my first ever look at real light!
When a person opened my box, the feeling was incredible; colors, sound, people, movement, all in a new and much clearer way than I had ever experienced. Who knew that there was more to life than a black box? Who knew that you could see more colors than black? And now, I have been with my wearer for more than a year.
After being worn, I found that it is the most interesting thing ever. I have seen so many different things and been to many more places! I hope I never have to go in a box ever again!
