Deadly ICE Shooting in Minnesota
a wife and a mother of three, was shot dead by ICE agents who claimed she and her wife, Becca Good, were harassing ICE agents.
Ross Jonathan, the ICE agent who filmed the entire interaction, including the moments leading up to the shooting and its aftermath, was stepping up to Good’s car. Good refused to get out of her car when asked, instead reversing her vehicle, glancing forward, and pulling the car to the right. Despite being in no danger of being hit by Good’s car, Ross shot first into Good’s windshield before shooting close-range at her window.
The first 911 call was placed at approximately 9:37 a.m. Less than five minutes later, a fire vehicle arrived. Responders found Good in her car, with gunshot wounds in her left shoulder and chest. After applying dressings, they moved Good to the sidewalk, where they continued to assess her wounds (CNN).
15 minutes after the first 911 call was placed, an ambulance arrived. Good was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead with 4 gunshot wounds (MSN). The matter wasn’t properly handled, and on January 9th, Minnesota officials renewed their calls for a proper investigation.
“Our ask is to embrace the truth,” Mayor Jacob Frey said on Friday. Worried that the government had already sealed the shooting as justified, he added: “Our ask is to include the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in this process, because we in Minneapolis want a fair investigation” (NYT).
