THE LEGEND OF PECOS Bill and PAUL BUNYAN FORMING THE GRAND CANYON

YEE-HAW!! Giddy UP! Paul Bunyan was riding his blue ox, Babe, to the Colorado River from the Grand Canyon. He wanted to give Babe a little bit of water because they had spent the whole morning cutting down trees.
Meanwhile, Pecos Bill was riding with Fishy, his wife Sluefoot Sue’s catfish, to go to the Sonoran Desert. He was taking the catfish back to her from the Colorado River. But the catfish was starting to get exhausted. Down they drowned in the river lower…
lower….
lower…
and lower.
“HELP!! HELP!! SAVE ME! I’LL DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU LATER!!!” cried Pecos Bill.

Just by luck, Paul Bunyan was thundering past on his blue ox, Babe. Paul wasted no time splashing in the freezing ice-cold water. He noticed tiny ice cubes drifting on the river. This proved to be a very cold river. He was right. ” BRRRRR!!! THIS IS THE COLDEST RIVER EVER!!!!!!!” he yelled.

SPLASH !! SPIOOSH! BOOM!
Paul Bunyan was so heavy, he caused the Colorado River to overflow!
SSSSSSSSSHHHHH!! SLOSH!!!! Water was erupting from all sides of the river.
The overflow of the river was so strong, the water rushed far and wide, carving out the Grand Canyon. Since a lot of the water had carved out the Grand Canyon, Pecos Bill was saved!
“Who’re you?” asked Pecos Bill. Paul Bunyan was surprised. He had never had to tell anyone his name since he was so famous.
“I’m Paul Bunyan of course!” he said.
“Oh, I’ve heard of you.” Pecos Bill said.
Paul Bunyan wasn’t paying attention. He was looking around at the beautiful rainbow cliffs and dunes around him.
“Wow!” Paul exclaimed.
“Let’s call it the Grand Canyon because it’s sooooooooo grand,” said Paul Bunyan
“Ain’t a better name for it,” agreed Bill.
That is how the Grand Canyon was formed.
