Three weeks after wandering off, Lulu, an elderly golden retriever was found by a construction crew in salmonberry bushes in Sitka, Alaska. She was originally mistaken for a bear.
Lulu’s owner, Ted Kubacki a said. “I have five daughters that range from four to thirteen years old. So, they’ve spent every moment of their life with that dog.” Lulu was barely alive when she was found on Tuesday. But she is back with her family, and they are nursing her back to health.
The family searched for Lulu for weeks but didn’t have any success. After three weeks of this the family had given up. But this week, a construction crew spotted Lulu lying about 15 feet away and they thought she was a bear. But as they approached her, they realized it was a dog. All of Lulu’s owners’ sadness melted away when he got a call that his dog had been found.
