Procrastination is the art of delaying or postponing something simply because you are lazy. There is no greater master at this form of art than yours truly. Whether it is working out at the gym, studying for your English test, or your homework from 9th-grade biology class, procrastination can be used anywhere, anytime. You just need the skill, the time, and the perseverance to master this skill. It might be long and arduous, but this journey is worth it.

The first part of procrastination is to find something you are interested in, one that you will invest your time in, without feeling anything but enjoyment. You can use this as an excuse in order to avoid doing the project. The next step is to write down a neat, organized schedule for your upcoming projects, and to not follow it at all. Write it all down, give your mind a sense of purpose, and when you start the project, tell yourself that you don’t have to do it right now. Leave the project for a later date, and do the thing you are very interested in. This process should be repeated until you only have one day left. This part is the hardest part.

Then the mind lets out a ferocious monster known as the panic monkey. The panic monkey is a creature who is asleep most of the time, and only awakens when a deadline for something very important comes up. Then, it will take over your entire mind. This panic monkey will go into Autopilot until you complete the task. The only way you can conquer the panic monkey is to force your brain to come up with a solution. It must be one that will work, which will calm your brain down and subdue the panic monkey back into hibernation. In order to come up with a solution, you must think of all possible outcomes, including how the teacher might react, and whether you can squeeze just enough time to do it before the fated bell rings. If you can fulfill these steps, you too can become a master at delaying the inevitable deadline of your project.
