One month before the big project, Rianna had to prepare for the considerable work that lay ahead.
“A whole month,” she thought. “I might as well rest, talk with some friends, or go on a shopping spree.”
So that’s exactly what she did. After saying farewell to her mother, she was out of the door, enjoying her time shopping for makeup, clothes, and food with her friends. The thief of time seemed to be lurking around the corner, tempting her to indulge in more leisure, stealing away precious minutes, hours, and even whole days.
During the second week, Rianna sat in front of a blank paper, feeling the pressure building up. “This is too hard!” she thought, feeling anxious about finishing the work on time. As the clock ticked past nine, her fear grew.
“I have to do this!” she exclaimed aloud.
“Do you?” a voice in her head questioned.
“Yes,” Rianna retorted, trying to convince herself.
“But you still have three more weeks. Is it necessary to start now?” the voice persisted.
“No…” Rianna grinned, giving in to the temptation, and decided to put it off for later.
In the last week, minimal work was done, and Rianna’s anxiety increased. She rushed through the task, writing random babbles in her head, feeling overwhelmed by the approaching deadline.
“One more day! 24 hours to do it! Is it essential?” the same voice in her head taunted.
“Oh god,” Rianna sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation she had put herself in.
