Life is a confusing mystery,
Chaotic and orderly.
It’s a big jumbled up puzzle,
Made of little bits and big pieces.
The first puzzle piece
We place on the board
Is our beginning.
The subsequent pieces
Are mundane and repetitive.
We’re babies at that point,
So life is relatively simple.
The pieces start falling
In place afterwards.
Perhaps the starting point
For a lot of people
Is education.
Preschool, kindergarten, elementary.
Whichever you first start on,
It is a big turning point.
School is not necessarily memorable.
A first birthday party,
Christmas, something sad,
Something else,
Anything that we remember clearly
Is a puzzle piece.
Even if you don’t like school,
And don’t think much about it,
You do learn,
Even if you don’t remember much.
No matter how much you actually gain,
You gain something.
That point is undeniable.
And why exactly is that important?
Knowledge is power.
With knowledge,
The more you learn,
The more you consider.
Consider your choices
And much more
As you slowly grow up.
But everything has a price,
And so does knowledge.
The price you pay for knowledge
Is the burden of it.
The more you know,
The more you know how much more
You do not know.
Aside from that,
You must learn how to apply
That knowledge of yours.
You need to choose.
Choose a path in life,
Choose friends,
Studies, purchases,
What to do and more.
All that can lead you
To either disaster or victory,
Joy or sorrow,
And the way you live your life.
While life may seem doom and gloom,
Not everything is negative.
Life is full of positives as well,
Plenty of happy instances can occur,
And so can neutral ones.
Graduating school,
Going to college,
Getting a diploma,
Walking a career path,
Any significant moments
In your life are all pieces,
Be they filled with warmth and love
Or pain and anger.
A tiny piece, or a big one,
Each paves the way for the next.
Every one of them is unique
In their own way.
And what is the best thing about that?
They’re similar in that they all represent you.
Life truly is a big puzzle,
In various ways and forms.
You can’t control it,
So why worry and bother trying?
The sun isn’t affected nor controlled by anything.
It always rises from the east,
Clouds and storms or not.
So just live the way you like.
Your puzzle can be almost all dark,
Mostly bright colors or a mix.
Whatever the shape or form
Your puzzle may take,
It’s yours,
And that’s what’s matters.
