As he climbed the hill, a terrorizing wail sent a shiver down his spine. Sodden clothed, a low din echoed through the trees. A metal foot heaved itself into the squishy surface of the muddy soil. It echoed through his eardrums, haunting his future nightmares, like the undead bursting out of the ground. Seconds later, it did. Black, slim zombies with lava drooling down erupted from the ground. They gripped rapiers in their palms.

Black sparks arose from the ground. Noise engulfed him. Grunts and clangs filled his eardrums. Every metal figure was yielding a rapier that was visibly rusting. Suddenly, they started falling like they had been shot. Then he just stood there, his breath baited.

Jack was an ordinary ten-year-old, who loved video games, and went to school. A few years ago, on holiday to The Alps, he fell off his ski cart landing on a pile of soft snow, never to be seen again.

He was forced to survive in forests. He had hair that spiked up at the front. Scratches, bruises, cuts, and dirt covered his body. Jack had been on the news and a search team had come out to find him but they hadn’t succeeded.

Jack had a brother and two sisters. Jack had never met his youngest sister, the first sister was only one, and his brother was five. Now he was thirteen, fighting robots.

After the robots had fallen, a black figure appeared from behind a tree. He was masked and held a gun. The moment it appeared, it was gone.

Jack woke. Sweat dripped from his face. He checked his clock. It was 6:10 in the morning; he was lying in a comfortable, soft, cozy bed with a flickering light ahead of him. Jack left the bed and started wandering towards the light. Seeing the light source made his jaw drop.

It came from his home’s landing. All was silent. Then he saw it. He couldn’t tell who it was. All he knew was that it was something that would change his life.
