My heart was pounding when the judge drew the ticket. I took a deep breath when he opened his mouth to speak. “The winner of the lottery of 50 million dollars is … EMILY!” I gasped, shocked. Had my ears heard it right? Had I really won the money? It turns out, it was true. I had won! I was stunned – the only reason I had tried my luck with the lottery is because my friend, Zoe, had entered it, too. Now, I had to think of how to spend the 50 million dollars, and I had the perfect idea.
“Mom!” I shouted happily after I got home, bouncing up and down. “I WON THE LOTTERY!”
Mom looked at me, surprised.
She said, “You mean you won 50 million dollars?!”
“Yes!” I cried.
“That’s amazing, honey! What are you going to spend it on?” Mom asked.
“I’ll buy an apartment, one two-story house, one horse, three snakes, and three Ford Mustangs because I want to have playdates with my friends in my new houses and take them rides in my cars, and I’ve always wanted a horse and snakes!” I said, gleefully.
Mom replied, “Sure, that’s- wait, what?! That much?! Actually, on second thought, that’s fine. Go ahead, Emily.”
She handed me the keys to her car. I danced out the door and hopped into her car. I started the engine and drove to the Bob Owns Everything store. Definitely legally, of course…
[ Ten Minutes Later – In The Store ]
My eyes widened as I took in the sight. There were so many things, too much to ever describe! Flashing lights, numerous advertisements, cars, pets, and much more. I strolled over to the VROOM Cars. Wow, there were so many shiny cars of every color! I asked a worker if I could buy one red, one orange, one yellow, one green, one blue and one purple Ford Mustang. The worker looked a little surprised, but quickly nodded when I pulled out the money. I purchased the cars and headed off to Larry’s Houses. Larry, the owner of the store, walked over.
“Hey there! What do you want to get today?” He asked, in a deep voice.
“Well, I would like a couple things, Mister Larry. May I buy two apartment buildings and three two-story homes?” I replied.
Larry said, “Sure thing! I will tell you the address of the houses. It is 728 Sycamore Street. Money?”
I handed him the money, and off I went to the last place, the Totally Not Deadly Pets store. My purchase of four horses and seven snakes went by quickly. Soon, I was driving home to my mom. Wow, it was an eventful day! I still had 40 million dollars left, but I didn’t want to spend it, at least not all today.
