After the case of the mysterious death of a local police officer, Officer Rob, went cold, a coworker of the fallen officer, Loralie Sweets, decides to investigate deeper herself. Dayna uncovers the legend of a supernaturally cursed map. This map was said to give the people that touch it only 80 days left to live. The few that have been locked in this fate appear to be ordinary day-to-day people, but in photographs, they appear skeletal. That is unless they figure out the true meaning of the map before the time limit hits. Let’s just say, the number of current people that have figured it out is a flat-out zero.
Dayna searched Officer Rob’s house and found a sheet of what seemed like dusty paper. Upon closer inspections, it was a map! It was difficult to read. It was ripped up slightly, and… damp? The paper is damp? Dayna was really confused in her head. Why is the paper so wet? Well, damp? No wonder why it’s not readable. Dayna called her brother, Dante Sweets.
“Dante?”
“Yeah, what’s up sis?”
“I found this map, at uhm… Officer Rob’s place, and I think it’s the legend of the cursed map.”
“Woah, woah, woah, hold up. You’re not supposed to be there, and you know the curse of that map, right?”
“Yeah, I know, but can I come over to your place to figure this map out?”
“I mean sure I guess.”
“Alrighty thanks Dan.”
“Hey! That’s not my name you little-”
This map was confusing to say the least, but it didn’t take long for Dante to figure it out. “Hey sis! Look at this!”
“Are you stupid?! How would you spill water on it!?”
“No, no, no look!” He pointed at the water spilled part of the map. “It’s readable! It’s… somewhere in New York?”
“I guess being clumsy helps, eh?” They soaked the map under the kitchen faucet and squinted at it some more. “Oh, it’s the Bronx! Not too far from here!”
“Danya!”
“What?”
“Why are you so excited about this? Now I’m involved in this 80-day life limit too.” The smile from his face faded.
“Dante. Don’t worry. Look it’s a map. The faint little line over the city probably shows us what would break the curse! But there is one issue. We need to figure out which end.” She held the map up to the light. Nothing showed up. She looked for more clues. Still nothing.
“Well Sis?”
“It’s time for an 80-day long adventure,” Danya said with a huge smile. The best was still yet to come, with Dante hoping that their lives aren’t cut short.
