The sun sets halfway on the horizon.

I climb high up a tree,

And peer at the glowing radiance

Covered by a series of clouds,

Wondering if this is a gift from the heavens.

The sun now looms

Above the roof of the big gray house.

The golden streak of light pours down its warmth,

As if embracing the Earth in a warm cuddle.

On my darkest days,

It plays the hero.

It brings a pleasant, cheery smile to my face,

As if God has summoned this sunshine,

To brighten me,

To enlighten me.

On my brightest days,

It plays the entertainer.

It weaves in between the fluffy clouds,

Trying to be strikingly seen,

Then burying itself in the clouds,

As if it was playing hide-and-seek with me.

The evening sun now dips back down the zenith,

Like a donut being soaked,

Drenched,

And melted

In a thick caramel paste.

The sun glimmers for a second,

As if waving goodbye,

And I wave back instantly.

Are hidden from mankind;

The center of the solar system

Has winked once and said, “See you tomorrow,”

Before finally submerging itself into the midnight blue sky,

And disappearing in the dust.
