Protecting The Environment

Protecting the environment and saving Earth’s limited resources is something that I think is grossly underrated. After all, if you look at what people are doing, we really don’t see people caring about Earth in their everyday lives. I mean, sure, people can pick up trash, help out wildlife, use eco-friendly products, but is that really enough to save the environment?

The issue is that the way humans are living currently is very unsustainable. I happen to blame this on one thing: population.

It’s a common misconception that there is about eight billion people in the world, but recent studies have proven that the amount of people living in rural areas may have been severely undercounted.

With more people in the world, there’s more need for food, supplies, buildings, and entertainment. This leads to overconsumption, a major problem that affects all habitats in the world. What people don’t realize is that these habitats are crucial for nature to thrive. If we destroy them, it makes it next to impossible to protect the environment.

So things aren’t looking great for Mother Nature. But I believe that we still have time. The world has coexisted with animals before in the past, when the population was smaller and society was doing things that was affecting them less. We can do it again.

Stop overbuying things that you only need a few of, don’t waste water, throw away your trash, and for Pete’s sake stop using AI and buying from Nestle. You may have just been surprised there. Nestle? What did Nestle do? Literally everything. It has unethical business practices, uses child labor for cacao harvesting, and exploits water sources like crazy. I’d also start boycotting companies that still test on animals.

Saving the environment may be hard, but it isn’t a one-person job. Together, all of us can save the world.
