On March 13, 2026, NASA officials claimed that the rocket Artemis II will be setting launch for a test flight to the moon in early April. This launch will take place at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The purpose of this launch is to fly the aircraft to the “dark side” of the moon where humans cannot see. After a series of delays, the rocket will finally be setting off.

The Artemis II is a rocket that will be sending 4 astronauts to the moon: 3 Americans, and 1 Canadian. The astronauts are Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen.

The rocket has undergone many repairs before and faced many delays. At first, Artemis II was due to set off in March, but it was moved to early April. The Artemis II project is a test flight of Artemis III, planned to reach the moon in 2027 later but rescheduled to early 2028.

Who is NASA? NASA is a research agency that hires astronauts to explore and learn about outer space. NASA was founded in 1958 and continues to discover more facts in outer space and create more machines. Some of NASA’s newest creations are Artemis program, which is designed to learn about the moon. The James Webb Space telescope (2022) was designed to go “back in time” and help NASA scientists learn about the universe’s past. NASA will be focusing on its Artemis Program until they are satisfied with the information they get on the moon.
