As I entered,

I felt a gust of wind brush my hair.

I was nervous but excited.

My friends waved, and I did too.

I got lost while finding classes,

But teachers helped.

I saw my friends,

But only a few.

Some were present,

And some were absent.

There were many people

From my district,

And from other schools.

Lunch lines were long.

I had to wait 10 minutes.

My teachers were nice,

So were students.

Everybody was nice,

So, I had a good first day!
