It all started in 2012 when Jimmy Donaldson launched his very first YouTube channel – MrBeast. This decision changed his life forever and he has made a legacy for himself and his friends Chris Tyson, Karl Jacobs and Chandler Hallow.
MrBeast started off with cringy Minecraft (an incredibly popular sandbox game) videos and videos exposing how much money other youtubers make, which were small and didn’t really catch on. Then, in 2017 he started to gain attention. He started doing challenges, some of his most famous were reading the entire dictionary and counting to 100,000. He started catching people’s eyes and then he started investing financially questionable sums of money into his videos. He made a system where he would spend money, catch the eye of people, people subscribe to his videos giving him more money, with more money he could do more crazy videos. The cycle would continue, making him one of the fastest growing youtubers on the planet. At the end of 2017 he celebrated his 40 thousand subscribers, now 5 years later he has 99 million subscribers. In addition to that he had a candy brand and a burger chain store.
Though he is rich, he is kind-hearted and cares about people and the planet. Many videos are giving people money, houses and even Lamborghinis and he says it’s to entertain and help people. Some people didn’t believe him until he made
#TeamTrees
a fundraiser where every $1 donated, a tree is planted. The goal was 20 million trees in only a matter of 56 days. Then he did
#TeamSeas
, same concept a dollar donated is a pound of trash out of the ocean, they got a smashing 30 million pound of trash out of the ocean.
Though many people say he’s crazy, many people know, he’s kind, helpful and funny. And he always will be.
