Mary fell toward the ground, frantically looking around to see if there was anything to slow down her fall. Spotting a vine, she lunged toward it and grabbed hold. While she shimmied down, a glint of metal caught her eye. A glider made of what seemed like lightweight chrome was heading towards her. Squinting in the sunlight, Mary saw the person on the hang glider was holding something sharp, like a knife. With a start, she realized two things: the knife was going to cut the vine, and its wielder was an Unbeliever. So, Mary shimmied down faster and landed on the forest floor. The person jumped off the hang glider and landed in front of her, still wielding the knife.
At that moment, a figure came out from behind and tackled the Unbeliever. A short scuffle ensued, but the figure won, tying up the Unbeliever with purple glowing ropes. Then the figure turned to Mary.
“Who are you?” Mary asked.
“You don’t know?” The figure asked, startled. “Everyone in the kingdom is talking about you.”
“What kingdom?” Mary questioned again.
“Oh dear,” the figure replied. “We need to get you there so you can meet the king.”
“What king? And why does he want to meet me?” Mary said.
“Wow, you do ask a lot of questions,” The figure replied. “Oh! I’m Alisa Pennington.”
“I’m Mary,” Mary added.
