It was Friday the Thirteenth at 3:00 in the morning and I was standing in front of a mirror. Candles lit up the room, and the sink was running, as I prepared myself to say “Bloody Mary” three times. For the past week, my brother had been trying to convince me that ghosts are real, and so I decided to put his theory to the test.
As I came near the mirror, I said the words…
“Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary.” Suddenly, there was a big WHOOSH and all the candles extinguished and the water from the sink stopped flowing. Then, a WWWHHHOOOOOOOO sound came out of the mirror, and it sounded kind of like a ghost
“But ghosts aren’t real!” I thought to myself, and all around me things suddenly became
normal. “I must be imagining,” I thought. “Ghosts are just legends made to scare you,”
Oh how wrong I was.
In the morning I heard a strange: “I am alive”. I started panicking, “Did you hear that?” I asked my sister. “Hear what?” she responded. “Never mind, I must be hearing stuff.” I replied unsurely.
In the afternoon, mom took us to the mall, but then I heard it again: “The night you lit the candles, the water was flowing hard, and I was born from a mirror, to scare human hearts” I didn’t know if I was just hearing things because it felt so real.
At night, nobody was talking, and this was weird because my family likes to talk and so their silence terrified me. I decided to tell them about the voices and Bloody Mary.
“Have you guys heard any weird noises lately?” I asked “No,” all my family members replied at the same time “Have you seen anything out of the ordinary?” I asked again “No,” my family replied again “Can you say anything besides “No?” I wondered. “No” my family replied again. This was scary and so I ran upstairs.
When I am terrified, I usually do two things: listen to music, and read a book, and so that’s what I did. When I turned on the radio, I decided to listen to my favorite song: “Never Gonna Give You Up”, but instead of hearing the song I heard the voice again. I thought it was just some radio problems, so I decided to read a book instead, but when I opened my favorite book, “I am alive” was written in blood. I was terrified and tried to escape outside, but when I tried to open the door, it was locked, I was trapped in my room!
All of a sudden, Bloody Mary was standing right in front of me. “Wake up” she said. She repeated it and then began to twirl around me with things slowly turning to black. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in my bed. It was all a dream, and Bloody Mary is just a legend.
