There once was a cloud of dust,

That decided to form a yellow sphere,

That radiated heat and trust,

That it would one day form planets.

As eons passed,

Spherical rocks formed,

That seemed to last,

And grow larger through the ages.

These rocks came in different sizes,

Like the buildings in a town.

They stood like prizes,

That the universe had renowned.

Smaller rocks formed,

And carrying the liquid of life,

They went around and stormed,

On all the spherical planets.

Some of the planets were too far,

And some were too close,

To the yellow sphere that was known as a star.

The third hunk of floating rock,

Seemed to have something special,

As it’s blue liquid didn’t run amok,

And stayed to form oceans and seas.

From these oceans and seas,

Land was made.

The burning heat was traded,

For mountains and valleys.

From the ocean,

Out came life,

In many different sizes.

Life, through the centuries, evolved,

Through animals and plants alike,

But there’s always something left unsolved.

While eons passed,

And animals came and went,

The cycle of life still lasted.

Even when the planet was filled with strife,

Many of us still have been left pondering,

What is life?
