Write Creatively!

Instructions: 

Write something creative, whether it’s a piece of flash fiction, a limerick poem, a memoir, or a letter to a friend… You have total control!

 

Minimum: 250 words.

 

Some ideas for what to write: 

  • Flash fiction
  • Short story
  • Chapter of a book
  • Memoir
  • Creative nonfiction
  • Poem (haiku, ballad, sonnet, limerick, acrostic, etc.)

 

Need some prompts?

  • Imagine it is two hundred years from now, and someone is writing a history book about this year. What would they think about our lives? Are there any huge changes that have occurred?
  • Write a story about a day in the life of a household pet, it could be yours or someone else’s. What do they think about? What is their perspective on everyday things that humans do? 
  • Write a poem about your favorite part of nature. What does it look like? How does it make you feel?
  • Imagine you could control the weather where you lived. Would you leave it mostly the same, or would you change it a lot?
  • Write a story about someone who has a very strange family. What are they like? What do they think about their family’s strangeness?
  • Design a useless gadget and make an advertisement for it. 
  • You discover a strange door that you have never seen before near your house… 
  • Imagine you swapped bodies with someone you know, what would happen next? What chaos would it unleash? 
  • Write a story about a magical ring that can grant all your favorite things. Until…
