One fact is that some can fly! They are
Banded flying snake,
Chrysopelea taprobanica,Chrysopelea ornata ,Chrysopelea paradisi, and Chrysopelea rhodopleuron. They fly by flatten their ribs into a concave C shape to trap air under their bodies as they fall. By undulating back and forth in an S-shape, they can actually glide through the air.
Also, Snakes have hundreds of ribs!!! That’s much more than humans. We only have 24 ribs. They need them for the same reasons we do, to protect their organs.
Snakes can be very fast. The Black Mamba can reach 23 miles per hour!
Speedy! But other snakes are downright slowpokes and can be as slow as 1 mph.
