Recently in Europe, people are experiencing extremely hot temperatures. Some places even reach up to 41 degrees celsius. This extreme heat affects the residents’ lives in many different ways.
Hot air causes trees in the forests to burn, and resulting in serious forest fires throughout in western Europe., which have been very dangerous. These fires are not only harming people, but also the animals and plants living in the these forests.
Temperatures in different countries are constantly rising. Places in Northern Spain are reaching high temperatures that are reaching 42 degrees celsius. Similarly, in maximum temperatures in Germany, Italy, and Belgium are hitting around…also rising perpetually. In the UK, the weather generally hits around rises to 38 degrees celsius., which is extremely hot for the UK.
Children in Europe are also being impacted by the heat, one pupil said that he takes an icy shower everyday and will sleep on the sofa instead of his bed. In other places, schools aren’t allowing students to go outside during recess.
So, what is causing Europe to be this hot? Scientists discovered that on top of Western Europe, there is a large heat dome, which is a heat dome is a large area of high atmospheric pressure. It is like a cage on top of Europe that traps the heat which came from the Sahara desert, and causing Europe to be extremely hot.(From National Geographic Kids) (In the future, try hyperlinking this source the way we discussed in class.)
In conclusion, However, the European heat is was not merely a result of just because of the heat dome, but also it was also the result of global warming. Humans need to protect the Earth as to prevent global warming from happening.
