Why Are Popular Internet Trends So Dangerous?
The famous Squishy Dumpling toy has taken over the internet since the year of 2025, but it may become a serious health concern to many people. Officers from the Trading Standards at Swansea Council in the United Kingdom tested these viral squishy dumplings after some people reported that the toys had a very peculiar smell. The squishy dumplings were brought into a lab for testing. All of the test results claimed that the viral squishy dumplings had very harmful chemicals inside of them, and they (the viral squishy dumplings) all failed to meet basic United Kingdom safety standards.
This incident is kind of like when the famous tide pod challenge came when people tried to swallow tide pods since they kind of looked like candy. The trend caused the hospitalization of thousands of Americans for weeks to be treated for severe poisoning, chemical burns and respiratory distress. The two trends are related, in my opinion, since they both involve dangerous chemicals that can get you, or the person doing the viral trend killed or seriously poisoned/injured. The viral squishy dumplings are raising serious health concerns, and many people, such as parents and guardians are raising major complaints about these viral squishy dumplings. People have been warned about how dangerous squishy dumplings are, but some people don’t listen and keep doing it. There is now a viral social media trend encouraging children to microwave their squishy toys that has caused severe, traumatizing burns. You shouldn’t follow popular trends and first do research on them. If it is dangerous, don’t risk your life for a few views.
