US and Iran's Peace Treaty Uncertain?
U.S. and Iran were close to having a peace treaty. Unfortunately there were attacks that came from both sides. On June 1-3, 2026, a series of breaches took place when the U.S. strikes hit Iranian sites in the Persian Gulf. In response to the strikes, Iran fired missiles at U.S. military bases in the country of Kuwait. On June 7-8, 2026: Israel launched strikes in Southern Beirut. Iran retaliated by launching a lot of ballistic missiles directly targeting Israel. Israel subsequently responded by striking Iranian military sites. On June 8-9, 2026, the U.S. launched retaliatory strikes against military and radar sites in Iran. This happened after an armed Iranian Shahed drone shot down an American AH-64 Apache attack helicopter doing an overnight patrol of regional waters over the Strait of Hormuz. The helicopter was patrolling just off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Peninsula. President Trump said, “There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack.” Trump said that they need to retaliate against what the Iranian forces did to the two pilots. Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer said, “The U.S. Helicopter that went down over the strait is a stark reminder that every second Trump’s disastrous war continues is another second that our troops remain in harm’s way.” Schumer means that the longer the war between Iran and U.S takes, the more people might die.
