The Youngest F1 Driver from Britain
Arvid Lindblad is the new youngster on the F1 grid. He started his F1 journey on the Red Bull Junior Team in 2021 at the age of 13. Now, the 18-year-old is a professional driver, and the youngest from Britain. Arvid placed 12th in the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit, and 8th in the 2026 Australian Grand Prix at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.
Arvid has English, Indian and Swedish roots. He said in an interview that English was the easiest for him to speak, but he does speak a little Swedish and only a few words in Indian. He is proud of his roots and he is the only F1 team member that has mixes of English and Indian. His background was very supportive because his parents owned a racing shop and his grandfather loved F1 and would watch anything with an engine and wheels.
Arvid was picked to be on the Red Bull Junior Team which is a very big advantage to making it to the Grand Prix, which many people fight for. Before that, he was on motocross, then changed to the serious go-carting.
This year, he has already raced alongside Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, some fellow English mates. Although he did not beat these major racers, Arvid did beat the previous world champion Max Verstappen, meaning he is part of the new generation that is evolving in F1.
