Typhoon hits the Philippines for the second time
A typhoon has hit the Philippines for the second time at 9:10 p.m. local time on a Sunday, which left 200 people killed during the storm. The typhoon, called Fung-wong, has been categorized as a super typhoon by the government’s weather bureau. The typhoon hit Dinalungan in Aurora Province.
As the typhoon approached the Philippines, wind speeds reached up to 115 miles an hour and is categorized as a category three hurricane. A rain band of 1600 kilometers (Almost 1000 miles) was forecast to drop very heavy rain over a large region of the Philippines. This area included the main island of Luzon.

At least 1 million people across 12 regions of the country were evacuated to safety. 15 million people spread out between 12 classes spread across metropolitan Manila were suspended by the government. The effects of the storm continued to Sunday. The officials have reported at least two deaths. One person was crushed by falling debris, while the second person was killed by drowning.

Secretary Gilbert Teodoro ordered the evacuation because failure to do so would result in the risk of endangering life of rescuers. Gilbert Theodoro stateed that they have received numerous reports about country men not following evacuation orders. “So there will be forced evacuation in areas where we still can,” he said this while on a video message to reporters.
