Australia Shocked by Shooting on a Beach
On December 14, 2025, two men on Bondi Beach in Australia were shooting at a large group of people.
In 2025, Hundreds of people gathered on Bondi Beach to celebrate Hanukkah, which is a significant Jewish Holiday. Around 6:45 PM, these two men (father and son), shot at a very large group of people gathering to celebrate Hanukkah. They left at least 16 people dead, and over 40 people injured.
Billy Stockwell from undefined says, “Before the main attack began where two gunman opened fire on the event, two people — a man and a woman — grappled with one of the attackers as he exits his car on Campbell Parade, the road that runs along Sydney’s Bondi Beach, according to dashcam video. The man and woman, who have not been identified, were fatally shot in the attack, according to 9News.”
The father was killed by the police, and the son is in the hospital. The police say they have found two bombs nearby. The Australian government thinks it was terrorist attacks, and the men were attacking Jewish people. The war between Israel and Hamas started in 2023, and terrorist attacks targetting Jewish people have increased worldwide.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “An attack on Jewish Australians is an attack on every Australian.” After a different shooting in 1996, Australia passed one of the most strict gun laws. Now, the Australian government is working to make them even stricter.
