Dog Awarded Because Of Using Super Skills to Rescue Wildlife
In 2025 October, a dog named Henry was rejected by five different homes, because of is energetic nature. But his personality now earned a special award.
Henry was adopted by Louise Wilson, the owner of a company, when he was eight-month-old. The 10 years old Springer Spaniel have been award because of his ability to help catch criminals and save wildlife. Due to his super skills, he has been named Animal of the Year by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
The UK National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU) worked to locate some animals that have been stolen or killed by criminals, and Henry’s skills helped police track down crime. Henry was able to located bird carcasses too. Henry can detect seven different scents. Louise says Henry’s strong will and energy make him to be the perfect detection dog. The two of them are a formidable team for wildlife protection.
NWCU said that Henry’s work is so crucial with helping police to find evidence for crimes. Detective Insp Harrison also said intelligence showed that offenders are “scared and worried” by the work being done by animals like Henry.
These “hero dogs” like Henry have a rescue story. They help people to catch crimes and rescue wildlife. It was a very good help, which need to rewarded. Henry uses his personality and super skills to help people do some important things like saving wildlife. These dogs can be human’s best friend.
