Australia Announces a New Plan for a New great Koala National Park

Australia had made a decision to make a huge Koala National Park, with all the koalas that need a home to live together. This will be combining many other koalas in national parks around the world.

The cute and cuddly koalas were on the list of endangered animals. This is all because of deforesting which is another way of saying loss of forest habitat. Humans use those logs to build houses or furniture, but that includes the eucalyptus trees which is koala’s tasty meal. When those trees were cut, koalas might starve. For that, some scientists believe that koalas might be extinct in 2050. This is more of a reason to keep koalas from going extinct. Koalas are also an important part of the ecosystem because even though most animals never eat koalas. Their main diet which is eucalyptus trees might overgrown with no koalas around because other from koalas, great glider possums, common wombats, and ring tail possums there are no other animals that consume eucalyptus leaves. That is a small amount of species.

Koalas usually sleep for most of the day in eucalyptus trees, and every once a while they will eat a quick snack. Those trees will be their home, and the park it is a way to preserve all the koalas. They will be living in a save environment, and this is great way to help get koalas off the endangered list of animals. If they live in a protected environment those koalas can live a long and happy life.

The plan of building a new Koala National Park actually had been working for 10 years, and now the government of Australia is now trying to ban logging in certain areas to keep those the sleepy koalas safe. A conservation scientist named Stuart Blanch says that, “This park is great news for Koala, and it should also be great for people.”
