Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin to meet in Alaska.
U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska’s biggest military base, at 11:30 local time.
The main thing they are going to talk about is ending the war in Ukraine. Although Russia and Ukraine said that they both want to end the war, they both want different individual outcomes. The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is not expected to go to the meeting, but Trump has said that Zelensky would be the first person he would call after the meeting.
There will be other topics discussed in the meeting, like cooperation and trade. The last time Trump and Putin met was 6 years ago; since then, the war in Ukraine has continued for more than 3 years.
The Russian and Ukraine war is ongoing.
