Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to invade Gaza soon
On August 7, 2025 Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided that he would start taking over all of Gaza on August 14.
The reason why Mr. Netanyahu is doing this is that he wants Gaza to be free from Hamas. Hamas is an organisation that advocates for the release of Palestine and opposes Israel. Once Gaza is free, Mr. Netanyahu will give Gaza to the Arab forces. Prime Minister Netanyahu warned Hamas that civilians would get hurt and hostages would be in danger.
The Israeli army has already invaded much of Gaza, leaving only a coastal strip from Gaza city in the north to Khan Younis in the south. Even though this is not confirmed yet, many people think Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Hamas not to fight back. Or else the Israeli army will attack more, causing more injuries and deaths to Hamas.
Since most of Gaza is controlled by Israel, the whole population of Gaza fled to Gaza City, Khan Younis, and anywhere in between, because if the Palestinians stayed, they would’ve been captured and taken as hostages.
The war between Gaza and Israel has been going on for 2 years now, and over 63,000 people have been killed.
General Zamir of the Israeli army says, “We will continue to express our position without fear. That is the expectation we have of our commanders, as well. The responsibility lies here, at this very table.” General Zamir was appointed as a new general after Herzi Halevi and Prime Minister Netanyahu argued about the plan to invade Gaza.
General Zamir projects that they could take over the rest of Gaza within a week at most. The invasion wouldn’t be good for Israel because whenever anyone comes close to Hamas, Hamas starts killing the Israeli hostages. This is proven true because Mr.Elhanan Danino’s son died when Israeli soldiers were nearby. He claimed “Hamas are brutal terrorists that kill their (Israeli) hostages if the Israeli army gets near them.”
There are 50 Israeli hostages with Hamas and a whopping 10,000 Palestinian hostages in Israel.
