There was a humongous fire that France had never seen before. It has been claimed to be the country’s worst fire in 70 to 80 years. Tourists have been moved to shelter, as for residents too. Temporary arrangement locations had opened up across the region. Around 2,500 homes were working without electricity, and people living as far as 18 miles away from the fire had reported the fire’s impact on them. Around 2,000 firefighters are currently helping put out the fire and put it under control. The specialists said the fire spread quickly because of strong winds, dry vegetation, and hot weather. Also, dozens of aircraft were helping put out the fire by dropping approximately 62,000 gallons of water and 100,000 gallons of fire retardant; however, as of Wednesday, the fire remained entirely uncontained. Including 11 crews, seven engines, five helicopters, and a fixed-wing aircraft, were at the scene helping tame the fire. Many firefighters said that the fire would not be declared extinguished for many more days. Sadly, a woman died and 13 people, including 11 firefighters, that have been injured, with two in a critical condition, since the fire broke out near the village of Ribaute in southern France on Tuesday.
The fire started on Tuesday near the village named La Ribaute in the Aude Region of France. So much has burned up that the fire has already destroyed 58 square miles, which in comparison is bigger than Paris. So much damage has been done, French President Emmanuel Macron promised the country he would do everything to help the people who have been affected by the fire.
