Who won the Wimbledon trophy in 2025
Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool won the men’s doubles at England’s 2025 Wimbledon, becoming the first all-British duo to do so in 89 years.
Since 2012, British players have reached the men’s doubles finals several times, but they were always partnered with players from other countries. Henry Patten claimed the title with Finnish player Harri Heliövaara in 2024, and Neal Skupski won a game with Dutch player Wesley Koolhof in 2023.
In addition, Julian Cash said, “They played crazy amounts of
tennis on the grass.” The pressure was intense during the championship, as there were no second chances—only a win or a loss.
On Saturday, Poland’s Iga Swiatek claimed her first Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles title with a stunning
6–0, 6–0 victory over the USA’s Amanda Anisimova. Although both players were competing for the Wimbledon title, Iga dominated the match with a swift 6–0, 6–0 win in just 57 minutes—an impressive score, though not a world record.
Swiatek’s performance included a 78% first serve rate, aces, and 28 unforced errors from Anisimova, showcasing her dominance in going to the Wimbledon finals. The win also made her the eighth woman in history to win a major title on all three surfaces: clay, hard court, and grass.
“It seems super surreal,” said 24-year-old Iga. She said that it wasn’t her dream because it was way too far away as a dream. She felt like an experienced player after winning the Wimbledon trophy. She practices arm work, endurance, and agility. She trains her arms to build endurance, so they won’t tire during matches. This training helped her maintain power throughout the final.
