2025 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards
On June 21st, 2025, Grammy-Award winning artist, Tyla, hosted the 2025 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Beginning in 1988, the Kids’ Choice Awards were known as “The Big Ballot,” where the Big Ballot was a mail-in poll to a televised awards show where kids voted for their favorite actor or performer. The awards were given to the individual with the most votes. It slowly evolved over time to the current version, which includes getting poured in iconic green slime if you win an award. Fun fact: This year almost 20,000 liters of slime were poured.
This year, Jack Black, lead actor in A Minecraft Movie, won both Favorite Movie Actor and King of Comedy. Moana 2 got awards for both the actress of Moana, Auliʻi Cravalho, and the actor of Maui, Dwayne Johnson- better known as ‘The Rock.’
Wicked also got some awards, being voted Favorite Movie. Favorite Movie Actress went to Ariana Grande, who co-led as Glinda. Favorite Song from a Movie was also awarded to Wicked, for their song “Defying Gravity.”
Sabrina Carpenter won 3 awards, “Taste” for Favorite Song, “Short n’ Sweet” for Favorite Album, and Favorite Female Breakout Artist.
SZA also won Favorite Female Artist, and Bruno Mars won Favorite Male Artist.
There were also many awards given in other genres, like TV shows. The Kids Choice of Awards in 2025 seemed to be an overall success.
