The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards

The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards are an annual awards ceremony for this year’s favorite artists, creators, and gamers. The winners are voted for by people around the U.S., all rooting for the person(s) they favor. Winners are dumped with Nickelodeon‘s signature green slime and given an orange blimp as an award.

The first show for these awards started in 1987, where it was only a few episodes of a TV show. Now it has become one of Nickelodeon’s most loved events, where parents and children can bond over their shared love of their favorite content creators. Also, instead of the long carpet being red, it is orange, signifying Nickelodeon’s attention to small details. Their iconic sliming started in 2002 with celebrities and even the audience getting drenched in the slime. Not only is it enjoyed in the U.S., but it is also a beloved event for Africa, Asia and Europe.

This year, famous singer Tyla took the stage as the host for the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards. Performers included Katseye and Machine Gun Kelly. Everyone waited until the moment finally began, the real awards. The audience sat in their seats as everyone felt mixed emotions, such as being doubtful, cheerful or unhappy. This year’s favorite movie was Wicked and the most favored animated movie was Inside Out 2.

Whether everyone was elated or sorrowful, everyone had fun watching their favorite creators walk on stage and cheering them on. It is such a shame this year’s awards are over. There are probably many people already trying to plan for how they can win even more awards next year!
