3 nuclear sites in Iran are bombed
On June 21, 2025, the US bombed 3 of Iran’s nuclear sites, Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, joining the war. The operation was called Midnight Hammer, which involved U.S. B-2 bombers dropping heavy bombs on Fordo, and submarines launching cruise missiles at the other two places. Trump called the mission a success and warned that more bombs would be sent to Iran if they didn’t surrender.
At first, Trump didn’t want to get involved in the war. Some of his advisers opposed a war, but others did not. In the end, Trump agreed to help Israel’s mission and said he wanted to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. He said that if Iran fights back, the us would respond with more bombs.
The bombing has led to strong reactions in the U.S. Congress. All the democrats were upset that Trump did not ask Congress before launching the attacks. Only a few of the Republicans were warned ahead of time. News thinks that this will lead to a longer war. Supporters of the strike say it was necessary to protect national security.
Iran has promised to respond to the attacks, and American forces in the Middle East are now in big danger. Military bases in Iraq, Qatar, and other nearby countries are watching for possible missile attacks. Many of them are scared that if Iran strikes back and Americans are hurt, it could lead to more fighting and a wider war.
This is a big change in U.S. policy. President Trump said in his election campaign that he wants to avoid long wars overseas. But by joining Israel’s fight against Iran, the U.S. is now a central part of the conflict.
What happens next will depend on how Iran responds, and Iran is probably going to fight back and start a big war.
