The Toy Story movies have gotten fans from across the world, and Pixar and Disney recently announced an important detail for Toy Story 5.

Made over 30 years ago, the very first Toy Story introduced Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and many other side characters. Now, we know that the production of Toy Story 5 has started and will be released on June 19, 2026.

We also know the main villain in this movie will be Lily Pad, who is a tablet and wants Bonnie to like her, instead of Woody and the others. “It’s a new tech tablet, which allows Bonnie to chat with her friends and play games and other things too,” Pete Docter, Pixar‘s chief creative officer, said. “But Lily [the tech tablet] can also be sneaky and prickly to be around. And because, in her mind, it’s a lot better to be socialized, and Bonnie needs to move on from toys.”

Tom Hanks will be returning as Woody. Tim Allen will also be returning as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack will be returning as Jessie. New characters will be introduced as well, such as Smarty Pants, who will be played by comedian Conan O’Brien.

When asked about the upcoming movie, Tim Allen told the WIVB radio, “I can tell you that [TOY STORY 5] is a lot about Jessie. Tom [Hanks] and I — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”

It is going to be an exciting movie to watch in 2026.
