Toy Story 5: Toys vs. Tech movie for 2026 Release

Pixar has given big details of Toy Story 5: Toys vs. Tech, set to release in 2026. The film will continue the story nearly 30 years after the original Toy Story released in 1996, with many of the original characters returning, like Woody, Buzz, and Jessie.
The new plot centers around Bonnie, the girl who got the toys from Andy. But now, Bonnie is growing up, and her attention is away from her toys. A new character named Lily Pad, a sleek, tablet-like device, is defiantly the film’s main antagonist. Lily Pad feels like a symbol of how kids are growing away from there toys with electronics.
Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Bullseye will return to battle this villain and somehow shift Bonnie’s focus back to toys. Pixar has released early artwork showing the lovable Toy Story gang of toys facing off against Lily Pad. Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz), and Joan Cusack (Jessie) are all confirmed to return for the fifth film.
New characters will also be introduced, including one named Smarty Pants, voiced by comedian Conan O’Brien. Although the new story is still a secret, but it’s clear the film will focus on the conflict between the toy story gang and electronics.
Toy Story seems to bring AI themes, humor, and a look at what happens when the world changes faster than old toys can catch up. It’s a new story that asks: What happens to toys when they’re no longer needed because there are electronics?
