Air India plane crashes shortly after takeoff
Last Thursday, an airplane from Ahmedabad, India, headed for London, UK, crashed. Officials don’t know why the crash happened, but some theories are that the plane struggled to gain altitude.
An Air India plane bound for London, holding 242 passengers, crashed into a medical college right after takeoff last Thursday. “A single passenger survived the crash, according to a senior Indian official. The airline said there were no other survivors.” The reason for the crash remains unknown, but investigations are being performed. One possible reason was that the plane struggled to gain altitude.
The UK Prime Minister said that the plane crash was “devastating.” “I am being kept updated as the situation develops, and my thoughts are with the passengers and their families at this deeply distressing time,” he said. The Prime Minister of India said that the situation was “heartbreaking beyond words.”
Flying is one of the safest ways to travel because plane crashes happen very rarely. However, when a plane does crash, experts use investigations to find the reason behind the crash. Then the airline uses those reasons to make flying even safer in the future.
