Jack is nimble, Jack is quick.

He likes jumping over candlesticks.

Now, when he wants to play, candlesticks there are none.

If he wants to jump over candlesticks, his chores must be done.

First, he goes to class,

Where he sees Mary’s lamb, which followed her to school.

Even though it is against the rules,

The children laugh and play with the lamb until the end of the school day.

After school, Jack walks down the lane

To buy three bags of wool

From a black sheep

To give to his dame.

Then he runs back home,

To feed his three blind mice.

With the tasks done,

It’s time for fun,

And jumping over candlesticks.
