As soon as Mike heard the doorbell ring, he knew what was at his door. After preordering it 5 months ago, for the small price of $53,999.99, his most wanted item ever was here: the iPhone 50+ Pro Max.
Mike had spent the past 5 years of his life saving up for a new car to replace his old one, but when he heard about the new iPhone he spent all his money and outbid everyone at the auction for the first ever one. It came with all the best features: 50 cameras with 200k video quality, no buttons on the side of the phone at all, and of course no home button. The entire phone was activated and navigated using voice commands, with the new and improved Siri+.
Mike couldn’t wait to show it to his best friend, George, as Mike knew that George always was impressed by what he didn’t have.
As Mike walked to George’s house, which was only a mile away, he thought about all the cool things he could do with his new phone. He could download all the new games he wanted to play, even his favorite one, Brawl Royale. The new Siri had complex programming that allowed it to solve virtually any problem in any situation.
Mike arrived at George’s house and rang the doorbell. When George opened the door, he saw the black rectangular object in Mike’s hands and immediately realized what it was.
“Wow! Is that what I think it is?” George asked.
“Yup! I just got this at my doorstep, and it says it can solve any problem!” Mike responded.
George excitedly let Mike in, and they sat down on the couch in his living room. Mike showed George all the features of his iPhone and then they both played Brawl Royale together for the entire day.
The next day, Mike woke up wondering where he was. It took a few seconds to remember that he had fell asleep on George’s Couch. Mike stood up, excited to test out more things with the iPhone 50. Today was Monday, but Mike decided to skip work and just play with his phone. “Wait,” Mike thought, “What if I never had to work again! I could use my phone and get money in other ways!”
Mike spied the bank across the street, and a devious thought came across his mind. He said into the phone, “Hey Siri, how can I rob the bank at 576 Acorn Street?” To his surprise and delight, Siri found the entire blueprint of the bank, hacked their camera system, and created a step-by-step plan that Mike could follow without being caught.
Mike followed the exact plan that Siri showed, entering the bank through the back door that Siri had unlocked, and took as much money as his bag could fit. He quickly snuck back out and went home to count his profits. He had made almost $50,000! That was almost as much as he had paid to get the phone!
Over the following months, more than 70 banks were robbed, and about $5 million worth of cash was stolen.
George watched the news every morning and noticed that Mike was never home on the days of the robberies. He remembered what Mike had said just a few months ago: It can solve any problem. George figured out what was happening. He knew he should turn him in, but he was his best friend! After seeing bank after bank get robbed, George knew what he had to do.
However, George didn’t have any evidence of Mike’s actions, but he knew it wouldn’t be too hard to get some. The next day, George followed Mike in his car, carefully staying far enough behind that Mike wouldn’t notice him, but close enough that he could still follow him. They got to the bank, and George hid behind some shrubbery and hit the record button on his old iPhone 34. 20 minutes later, George had enough incriminating evidence and sent it to the police.
Mike was found guilty and got a life sentence for his actions, and as he sat thinking in his prison cell, he realized how the phone had turned him from an honest worker into a mad criminal. He had spent 5 years working towards that phone, only for it to be his ultimate demise.
