Yellow wallpaper on bare walls,
The constant hum of fluorescent lights,
Countless corridors, endless halls,
Soggy carpet scattered with blights.
I see things move, I hear things walk,
I don’t think all of them are in my head.
I always run and never balk,
Hiding is useless; I flee instead.
I’ve wandered this place for quite a while,
But there isn’t an end anywhere to be found.
I haven’t seen creatures though they’re sure to be vile,
But I’ve heard eerie noises like the howl of a hound.
I’ve looked and looked for what felt like years,
But there’s never an exit, never ever.
It goes hand in hand with my greatest fears,
Will I be trapped in here forever?
