I lay down on the long, lush grass
The crisp cool air of the evening makes me shiver
I look up
And stare at the millions of stars on an inky black canvas
Like lanterns floating in the sky
Some clustered like gathering friends
Some distant like voyagers traversing the endless sky
A bright white light suddenly zips through the sky
Piercing the stillness of the lake of stars
Only for a split second, leaving behind a trail of dust
Then, stillness again
The crisp cool air of the evening makes me shiver
I look up
And stare at the millions of stars on an inky black canvas
Like lanterns floating in the sky
Some clustered like gathering friends
Some distant like voyagers traversing the endless sky
A bright white light suddenly zips through the sky
Piercing the stillness of the lake of stars
Only for a split second, leaving behind a trail of dust
Then, stillness again
