Chapter 1:

The squeaking of the alarm woke up both Tommy and Tony. The ginger tabbies were inseparable. The kittens did everything together, from chasing a wind-up mouse to watching Tom and Jerry. Tommy stretched and yawned. Tony, the younger of the two, was more playful and preferred to act out Tom and Jerry rather than just watch the show.

“Please?!” Tony begged.

He playfully batted at Tommy, annoying him.

“Fiiinne,” Tommy said, sighing. “But I get a head start.”

“Boss?” A black cat slinked out of the shadows of the sewer, his eyes glinting in the faint torchlight.

Another black cat stepped out, her green eyes were sharper and more alert than the first cat.

“Albert?” the second cat’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Yeah,” Albert grunted, annoyed.

It seemed as if he couldn’t believe Angelica didn’t anticipate him joining The Society. Angelica lashed her tail out straight, and a munchkin cat slid out from underneath her legs. The munchkin cat’s brown and black fur rippled as he walked toward Albert.

“We use code names HERE, AL56,” his purr echoed threateningly in the tunnels.

“My apologies, M12,” Albert said, rising to a sitting position.

Angelica suddenly meowed in surprise as her watch beeped twice, a signal the Society used for potential moles.

“What is it, AN14?”M12’s voice was tense as if he expected a Secret Agent attack.

“I’ve got an insight on S2,” she meowed, eyes still fixed on the screen. “Our agents have located two more potential moles.”

Her eyes glinted.

“Family moles.”

“Excellent!” M12 meowed, rubbing his tiny paws together. “Operation Bedbug is a go.”
