If All Roads Become Underground Ones

The world is fantastic, I’ve got to say. Inventions come and go as the years go by. The thing is, some inventions are both marvelous and HUGE! Take underground roads as an example:

Obviously, underground tunnels/roads are a thing already and are excellent for crossing underwater to avoid bridges! These underground “roads” have been a major life changer! Even though I don’t drive I can tell that when I do start driving this is going to make the world run more smoothly!

But one con point is that these tunnels aren’t long enough! Some are about the length of the Hudson River! On the other hand, I suppose that underground roads may be helpful for reducing pollution and making the outside world a cleaner place!

The world only has 4.5 billion years left to live! That might seem like a lot of years, but if the pollution keeps on building, the world’s life will be shortened drastically!

A few other con points are that making these roads is going to take significantly more time than it took to make the “above-ground roads.” And especially in rural areas where they don’t even have that much pollution, maybe it’s not worth it to create underground roads. I’m not sure that the “rural” people would even like underground roads, because it would just be way easier to have the roads above-ground instead of underground since farmers need to transport their farm products, which is hard to do without sunlight. If the crops are being transported to a farmers’ market, and the crops don’t get enough sunlight during the trip, then they would have a shorter lifespan than healthier crops. (E.g., they might rot.)

Even though having underground roads might be useful, I don’t think that everyone agrees. It is wonderful that inventors keep inventing new inventions; however, I just don’t think that this invention is essential to everyone’s lives except for city-dwellers. They could probably use a few more underground roads.

Well, what do you think of these underground roads? Do you agree or disagree with my opinions?
