The 1969 musical “1776” won a Tony Award. A revival of the musical won the hearts of many. While the 1969 musical had a male cast, representing male figures from history, the revival consists entirely of female, transgender, and nonbinary actors, according to The Washington Post.

After Roe v. Wade was overruled, there were angry people and riots all across the United States. However, a more peaceful solution was offered by theater—to create musicals and portray discrimination and fights for freedom. People feel what the musical feels, and understand why abortion is an important right to women.
