Stephen Curry, the greatest shooter of all time, has always been underestimated. Because of his ordinary size and average raw talents, he had been doubted since the first day he started playing basketball.

Unlike other NBA stars, Steph Curry wasn’t an early high school star or an athletic beast. His dad was a former NBA player, and that’s why he fell in love with basketball at a very young age. “Growing up, I’m always the smallest player on the court, even now, I think I still am,” Steph said, and because of his size, he spent the whole summer before high school changing his shooting form with his dad to make his shot harder to get blocked.

Although Curry was ranked No. 16 in his state, he didn’t get any looks from famous D1 colleges. Therefore, he joined Davidson College, where he started to make a “splash”. Curry led Davidson to their first NCAA tournament where he scored 40 points and dragged the team to the Elite Eight. Because of his amazing performance in March Madness, he was drafted 7th by the Golden States Warriors to the NBA in 2009. Although Steph proved himself on the College level, the NBA scouts and reporters still didn’t believe that Steph was going to make a big splash in the league. He then started his journey to change the NBA forever.

Although there were amazing shooters in the league, no one expected shooters to win

championships by themselves as shooting is not as reliable as dunking. Curry proved people wrong by starting a whole new era, the 3-pointer rain. By draining 3’s all over the floor, “Stephen Curry from downtown” has become common “slang” in the world of basketball. He proved that shooters can control the league by winning three championships in four years.

Even with those elite performances, Curry was still doubted. As the leader of the team, he wasn’t the Finals MVP in any of his first three championships. Haters believed that his teammate, Kevin Durant, was more important to the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty. As the leader, he didn’t argue or pick fights with his teammates. Instead, he proved the critics wrong four years later.

After various injuries and the departure of Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors bounced back in 2022 under Curry’s lead. Curry won his fourth championship, and his first Finals MVP. After the win, he posted “WHAT THEY GONNA SAY NOW” on his Instagram.
